MFP Sneak Peek! Pretty Christmas Tree

This is my second sneak peek of the day and this time I thought I'd share a card I made using another favourite set called 'Winter Scenes'.  Here is what I came up with:

You can see that the main image is used in this month's blog button, and the colours I used were inspired by that.  I started by heat embossing the image in silver on watercolour paper, then I water coloured the image using dye based makers, and fussy cut it out.

For the main panel, I cut a piece of handmade paper from my local art store, and heat embossed some snow flakes from the same set.  distressed the edges, and matted with some distressed kraft.  Once I added some ribbon I adhered the panel to the card front, then adhered the image with foam squares.  the sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of the handmade paper, and adhered with more foam squares.  A few rhinestones finished the card front off.

I decorated the centre with a matted piece of kraft heat embossed with another sentiment from the set.

I love this set, it has a ton of sentiments and pretty images.  This is one of the extra sets this month, so it will be featured tomorrow.  Then the official blog hop starts on Tuesday.  Lots of excitement so don't forget to check back!

I used the following supplies on my card:

Card Stock:  Gina K Designs In the Navy, Neenah Desert Storm, handmade paper, Stampin' Up! watercolour paper.

Stamps:  Mark's Finest Papers Winter Scenes

Ink:  Versamark Watermark Ink

Embossing Powder:  Stampin' Up! Silver

Markers: Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Brilliant Blue, Bordering Blue, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa.

Embellishments:  May Arts Crinkle Ribbon, May Arts Curly Ribbon, Scrappin' Supplies Rhinestones.

Adhesive:  Scotch ATG, foam squares, glue dots.

Tools:  Paper trimmer, bone folder, scissors, Martha Stewart scoring board, Tonic Paper distresser, heat tool, water brush.
