Get Inspired - City Reflections

Hi everyone!  Its Saturday which means its time for some cardmaking inspiration!  This is a long weekend in Canada as Victoria Day is on Monday.  As such I am travelling with my family so this post is slightly shorter than usual.  Some fun things for you to look at though!

Yet again my inspiration came from Pinterest.  Can't go wrong with that site! Here is an interesting photo I found:

Another cool glasses pic .. or as another pinner said, " seeing the World through Hipster eyes ", ha ha.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the person to credit for this awesome photo.  If you like click here to see the original pin.  Here is what I came up with:

I used a Mark's Finest Papers stamp set called Big City.  I love the combination with the Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder. A colour scheme of silver black and white was used to echo the colour scheme in the photo, and I added gems to kind of mimic the stars and the moon.

I hope you have found my creation inspiring!  Don't forget to go to the Get Inspired page at MFP Speedy TV next week to see what MariLynn does with this image.  In the meantime have a look around you and see if anything inspires you.  Inspiration to create can come from anywhere!  Feel free to share your creations with us.  :)

Get Inspired - Spring Blossoms (Week 2)

Hi Everyone, happy Saturday!  Its my turn to contribute for our Get Inspired column over at MFP Speedy TV!

Today I am using a lovely photo provided by MariLynn last week:

So pretty!  Here is what I came up with:

I enjoyed making this card, and I used two Mark's Finest Papers' sets: Works of Art for the image, and Glad Glads for the sentiment. Both sets are lovely.

I started with some spraying and masking for the background, and stamped and heat embossed the image.  I did use some white gel pen to highlight the blossoms even though its really hard to see. I also added some glitter pen.  I dry embossed some vellum to make it look like lace, and distressed the edges. The sentiment, ribbon, more glitter, and some rhinestones finished everything off. Similar techniques (minus the spraying) were used for the inside of the card.

What do you think, are you feeling inspired? If you are we'd love it if you leave a link in the comments! :)

As I mentioned before, this post is part of the  Get Inspired page at MFP Speedy TV .   If you are not a member of MFP Speedy TV, its a free social networking site focused on stamping and cardmaking with MFP stamps.  In additon to our column you will find lots of inspiration, including other informative columns on a daily basis, so why not click over and see what you are missing!

So thats it for me this week! Next week I will have some new inspiration for you, see you then! :)
