Bonus - January cards I almost forgot to share!

So with the Mark's Finest Papers February Blog hop at an end, I was looking through my pictures to make sure I've included everything, and lo and behold I came across two cards that I forgot to share in the January Blog hop.  I thought I would share now! :)

My first card uses the January set called "Oh Baby"

I had fun with the bubbles and this cute little guy.  Its hard to see but I added some glitter pen to each of the bubbles.

I also made this card from the set:

When I made this card I knew the CAS card class coming up in February and I was inspired to make something more simple than usual.  As you can see I couldn't set my blending tool aside though, lol. :)

For the third card I used the January mini set called "Not So Ugly:

Another CAS attempt.  I saw this ribbon in my stash and was inspired to use it.  I kind of used a lot of it, lol.

The special stamp set we have for you this month is:
"Love Script"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is
"Big Cupcake"

I love today's set, right on trend:

Even though I love this set, I struggled with it a bit. I couldn't decide which of the stamps I wanted to use.  So what do you do when you aren't sure?  Jump in head first!  Here is what I finally came up with:

I started by laying out the stamps on the card front, and stamping them in a few colours so that they would layer nicely.  I added some washi tape and heat embossed the sentiment.  I added notches to either side of the card front for some twine, and finished off with sequins.

The centre of the card was heat embossed with another sentiment.

During the process of making it I wasn't sure how this card would turn out, but in the end I really like it.  Just goes to show that sometimes you have to wait until the end to see what your result is going to be. :)

Since the set is travel themed, for my second card I paired it with some travel themed patterned paper:

One of the papers in the set has a sheet of people shapes, like the symbols on wash rooms.  While I didn't use the sheet, I liked the shapes so I cut a row of similar people shapes, joined like paper dolls with my Cricut.  Once I layered the papers, twine, and people I added the sentiment from the set heat embossed on kraft.

I decorated the centre of the card with more of the patterns and another heat embossed piece of kraft.

With all of the travel themed papers and embellishments popping up all over the place, this set is the perfect set to start with!  But this isn't the only great set this month, make sure you check out the Mark's Finest Paper's Store to see what other great sets and supplies they have to offer.

Today's set is a fun one.  I have two cards to show you, and I could have come up with more if I had more time.  Here is the set:

Both cards today are really CAS, particularly the first one.  I have been enjoying using sequins lately, and when I saw the set this is the first idea that came to me:

I started with stamping and trimming out the cloud and the sentiment.  Its difficult to see in the picture, but I also had a kraft panel popped up on foam tape.  I added the cloud with more foam tape, and some sequins adhered with Glossy Accents.

Once the sequins were dry I added the sentiment, then decided more was needed so I added some lines with a white gel pen.

The centre consists of a white panel stamped with the sentiment and some rain drops.

The second card is still CAS, but had a bit more detail:

I stamped the boots first, then the sentiment so that I could get the placement just right.  I coloured the image, then added some patterned scraps and twine.  Once the panel was adhered to the card front I added some Glossy Accents to the boots.

The centre is similar to the first card:

This set is perfect for spring!  But this isn't the only great set this month, make sure you check out the Mark's Finest Paper's Store to see what other great sets and supplies they have to offer.

I always love Mark's Finest Papers' floral sets, and today's set is no exception:

Isn't it pretty?  I was inspired to use a scrap leftover from this card.  Here is what I came up with for this set:

I embossed the images on the scrap and highlighted with white gel pen.  I chose the white base and some grey ribbon to coordinate, along with a fun floral embossing folder.

I used the birthday sentiment on the inside:

This would be a lovely set to add to your collection.  But this isn't the only great set this month, make sure you check out the Mark's Finest Paper's Store to see what other great sets and supplies they have to offer.

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

As you may have guessed by the title, the first set we have for you this month is St. Patrick's Day themed:

I love that there are so many sentiments to choose from for this set and I love the images.  Here is what I came up with:

I am continuing with my CAS theme.  I thought a white base would be perfect to set off the green four leaf clover.  Once coloured and cut out, I added a touch of glitter by adding some glitter pen and smudging it before it was dry.  Some Glossy Accents (another theme this month) and twine finished it off.

The centre is also simple with just a sentiment:

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner this would be a perfect set to add to your stamp collection, after all everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!  But this isn't the only great set this month, make sure you check out the Mark's Finest Paper's Store to see what other great sets and supplies they have to offer.

Mark's Finest Papers Sneak Peak - Extra Stamp Sets

Hello Everyone! I can't believe that this month has gone by so quickly!  I had a ton of fun taking the CAS card class earlier this month, and you will see that it has influenced most of what I've come up with this month. It helps that so many of the sets are perfect for a CAS style.  The extra sets this month are no exception, they are really lovely (no pun intended, lol)!

First I'll show you the extra set called "Love Script":

Isn't it pretty?  I gravitate toward any patterned paper with script or text on it, so this script stamp will be very versatile in creating my own backgrounds.  For this reason I am showing this card first:

I decided to make a square card and heat embossed the card front with the script stamp.  I added a small square of kraft with dashed lines, some hearts, and a banner with a heat embossed sentiment.  Glitter and Glossy Accents are the perfect accent.

My second card with this set happens to be the one I gave to my husband on Valentine's Day:

The red on white gives a nice clean feel, and the sequins combined with more glitter and glossy accents  give some sparkle without going over the top.

The second set is the mini you can get for free if you purchase the four main sets.   You could use this set for a lot of occasions because who doesn't love cupcakes?  It's called "Big Cupcake":

This card isn't that simple.  I let myself have fun with papers and embellishing:

I chose a cream base to keep the card from feeling too heavy, and water coloured the image to coordinate with the layered papers.  Some ribbon and Viva Pearl Pen finished off the front.

I used the same papers on the inside that were used on the front and added the sentiment.

Aren't these sets fun?  Don't forget to check back tomorrow for day one of the hop.  You won't be disappointed! :)
