Craft Your Passion #140 Stitching Real or Faux

Happy Monday everyone!  You guessed it, its time for another challenge at Craft Your Passion Challenges!  This week we are asking you to create a project with real or faux stitching.  I chose faux stitching for mine, here is what I came up with:

Since we were asked to use either real or faux stitching on our project, I decided to forgo my sewing machine and pullout my trusty gel pen.  I watch a lot of Kristina Werner videos (she is amazing!) and she is always using her white gel pen and dashed lines, so when I sat down to create something I thought, "What would Kristina do? As a result I came up with something a lot more CAS than what I tend to do, and I love the result!

I love the look of white gel pen on kraft, so I decided to use a kraft card base with a colour scheme of kraft, white, and silver.  Once I had the card base I drew my stitching lines with my gel pen and a ruler.  I wanted the lines to stand out so I cut a kraft panel that was smaller than what I use normally, and embossed it with my Cuttlebug.  Once I corner rounded the edges I attached it to the card with foam squares.

I cut a bunch of snow flakes using the same Spellbinders set I used for last weeks card, from a piece of white card stock  that had been sprayed with glimmer mist. I adhered them across the card front in a diagonal direction with foam squares, then added some rhinestones to the centres.  A few more rhinestones were added randomly.

For the sentment I heat embossed it with silver on white, and banner cut the ends.  This was also foam taped to the card front.

In the centre of the card I used more stitching lines to echo the front, and heat embossed the sentiment in silver.  I didn't add any more as I thought the card was simple enough it didn't need anything more.

Now its your turn!  Create a project with real or faux stitching and link it up at Craft Your Passion Challenges by Sunday, December 16th.  There are lots of prizes to be won so don't forget to have a look at our sponsor and prize information back at the blog!

And as always, make sure to visit my lovely and amazing  fellow DT members!  They have so much inspiration for you at their blogs, you should really take advantage!  :)
