Mark's Finest Papers November Sneak Peek!

Its finally hopping time! I'm a little late today as I only took my pictures this morning and they took soooo long to edit.  I have a whopping 13 cards to show you!   Today some of MFP's senior DT are showcasing the extra and mini stamp sets for November.

This month's mini set is called "Mini New Year".

I find that it can be hard to find stamps specifically for the New Year, so this set would be a great additon to anyone's stamp stash.  Here is what I came up with:

As you can see I used both the extra and mini sets on the front of the card, along with heat embossing, inking with silver ink, star shaped rhinestones, and wooden stars also inked with silver.  For the inside I used the cute verse from the set along with the fun image that reminds me of the New Year's party aftermath. :)

Now for the extra set, called "Calendar".

I absolutely love sampler type sets like this.  When I first started stamping way back, one of the very first stamp sets I bought from a home party was a huge set containing small stamps for all of the different holidays.  Sets like this are great for beginners, or if you need to fill some holiday holes in your stash.   This set from Mark's Finest Papers is great because the images are just big enough that you can colour them in detail if you want, small enough to fit on a variety of projects like gift cards, tags, and even calendars,  and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like one of those big wooden sets.  Here is what I came up with:

I had a lot of fun with this set! You could of course give these as individual cards, or combine them into four note card sets, or combine them into one huge set!  I didn't even use all of the images here, so just think how versitile this set is! I think this could become a 'go to' set for anyone who has this in their stash.

Thats it for me today!  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for day #1 of the Mark's Finest Papers November blog hop!

  3. Awesome cards. I am going to have to make a set of cards for each month using this set. I was thinking too limited to just calendars when I saw it. Thanks for sharing.
