Welcome to the first part of the December Mark's Finest Papers blog hop! I'll explain a little more what's happening later, but first lets get to the stamps and cards!
Today's stamp set is called "Lots of Words" and is the extra set not included in the main four you can purchase as a bundle:
This is a really pretty set that I made two completely different cards for:
For this one I knew I wanted to make a birthday card, and something about that polka dot patterned paper that makes me think about birthday sprinkles. I based the rest of the card around that idea, and coloured the butterfly to coordinate.
For the second card I also made a birthday card but I decided to make something very CAS. I started on the card front with an attempt to make a one layer card but I can rarely resist adding something to make a bow and some gemstones. A little trick to make sure your twine or ribbon doesn't move on your card front, if you look closely I knotched out the sides of the card using a hole punch and only punching half of the hole on the edge of the card. It works perfectly for bakers twine!
Thats it for my cards today. Just to explain a bit about what we are doing this month, instead of having one long blog hop, we've decided to break the team into two, and spread the hop over two weeks. This week the first half of the design team will focus on the first half of the stamps, and the second half of the team will focus on the second half of the stamps next week on December 10, 11, and 12. Those of us not participating in the hop will be making cards to showcase on the main blog. So in addition to hopping along, make sure you have a look at the Mark's Finest Papers blog to ensure you don't miss out on any inspiration opportunties! :)
