Craft Your Passion #127 Blast from the Past

Its time for another fun challenge at Craft Your Passion.  This week its extra fun because its a blast from the past!  Participants get to choose any challenge from the last year (not including anything goes).  I chose challenge #103 which was Monochromatic.  Here is what I came up with:

I started with an image from our sponsor Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps called Love Seat.  I thought it looked kind of old fashioned so I thought I would try to make everything look like a black and white photo.  For this reason I kept everything to shades of gray and white.

I colored the image first, then masked it off and inked the background with gray ink and some silvery mist.  I sprayed the card base with the same mist I chose coordinating pieces of cardstock, then dry embossed the main piece.  I inked the embossing to make it stand out, adhered it to the white piece which had been inked as well.  I added some ribbon and adhered the panel to the card front, and added the bows.

The embellishments were added as an afterthought I felt the card needed more.  I started with the flower paperclips, adding them to the main image and the ribbon, then added some gems to jazz up the centres.  At this point I adhered the image over the ribbon with foam tape.

I kept the inside simple with some matted white that had been inked and another paper clip.  Since the clip is only adhered to the back of the panel this would be a great to slip a gift card or a photo into.

Now its your turn!  Have a gander at past challenges from the last year on Craft Your Passion.  Create your project accordlingly, go back to Craft Your Passion, and add your project to the inlinkz at there by September 16th so that you can be entered into the draw.  See the blog for details on prizes!
