Craft Your Passion #126 Flower Power

Lately I have been using a lot of flowers in my projects so this week's Craft Your Passion challenge is perfect - flower power!  This is what I came up with:

Part of the challenge is that your flowers should be part of the image used, not just your embellishment. I am slowly getting into Christmas crafting mode so when I saw the poinsettia image from our sponsor Delicious Doodles, I had the idea for this card right away.  Don't you love it when that happens!

I started with the poinsettias which took the most time. Since I knew I wanted to use a form of paper tole, and I wanted  two flowers so I printed the image six times.  I coloured the images and trimmed them out, making each level slightly smaller. I layered each level of petals with foam tape, then added some Sakura glitter pen.

I decided I wanted to layer cream on cream, so I cut my pieces accordingly and dry embossed the main panel.  I sprayed all pieces with gold mist, and inked the edges of the embossing and the sentiment piece with creamy brown.

I added ribbon to the main panel and adhered the main panel to the card base with foam tape.  At this point I added a bow with separate pieces of ribbon and a wooden die cut snowflake that had also been sprayed with gold mist.

The sentiment was heat embossed in gold and also foam taped to the card front.

I kept the inside simple by just heat embossing another sentiment.

Don't you want to join in with us?  Create your project and add it to the inlinkz at Craft Your Passion  by September 9th so that you can be entered into the draw.  See the blog for details on prizes!  Also, don't forget to visit all of the other DT members for all of their lovely inspiration!
