Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #31 Babycakes!

Its Friday so that means its time for another challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges!  This week the theme is to make a project featuring cupcakes or babies.  This is what I came up with:

This was a really fun one.  I started with the patterned papers, then chose the marker colours to coordinate.  I watercoloured the image with a water brush and markers, added a bit of glitter pen, inked the edges, and embossed the entire panel with clear Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (my new favourite thing) and crackled it by putting it in the freezer for a few minutes.  Once cracked, I rubbed the surface with a light brown ink pad to highlight the cracks,  and cleaned the surface of the embossing with good ol' Windex (I had tried baby wipes first but the surface was streaky.  Windex seemed like a good option to try and it worked!).

Once I had my focal image done I constructed the rest of the card.  I trimmed and inked the papers, chose ribbon and a button and assembled everything. Once the main panel was finished the rest of the card went together really quickly.  At the last minute I added some rhinestones, and glitter pen to the sentiment.

I decided to leave the center of the card blank as I can always add a stamp later for a particular event if needed.  Once I adhered some inked white I trimmed some of the rows of chevrons and added them randomly to the inside.  All done!

Card Stock:  Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pirouette Pink, water colour paper.  Echo Park Sweet Day 6x6 pad.

Stamps:  Inkadinkado You're So Sweet Mini

Ink:  Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink Creamy Brown, Staz On Jet Black, Versamark Watermark Ink.

Embossing Powder:  Ranger Melt Art Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel

Markers:  Stampin' Up! Stampin' Write Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Real Red, Only Orange, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue.  Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Star glitter pen.

Embellishments:  Brown satin ribbon from stash, Stampin' Up! Basic Jewels Rhinestones, button from stash.

Adhesive:  Scotch ATG, Scotch Quick Dry, Zots, foam squares.

Tools: Paper trimmer, bone folder, scissors, Ranger ink blending tool, heat tool, water brush.
